Our Sydney Risk Advisory team provides a wide range of Cyber Risk advisory and assessment services relating to privacy regulation, governance, transformation, and risk assessment.
What will your typical day look like?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager join our Sydney Cyber Risk team. You will bring a strong balance of security risk experience, strategic thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills, which will enable you to engage at all levels of an organisation in relation to the cyber risk agenda. You will assist organisations with a wide range of security advisory services, such as cyber security strategy, threat and risk assessments, security program design, security governance and security program leadership. You will work within a diverse and driven team who are passionate about helping organisations to improve their cyber security capabilities.
About the role:
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks and remediation methods to mitigate risks
- Demonstrate problem solving, critical thinking and logical structuring skills
- Assist the clients in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods, and tools to support service offering or industry projects
- Manage the engagements end-to-end considering the broader impact of current decisions
- Facilitate use of technology-based tools or methodologies to review, design and/or implement products and services
- Identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability and manage engagement economics
- Utilise your knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, Deloitte products and service lines to offer innovative solutions to our clients

We are seeking professionals with the following minimum experience and qualifications:
- Experience in a privacy advisory role who can operate autonomously
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance required in the Australian environment.
- Experience leading teams and coaching junior staff
- An in-depth understanding of applicable privacy laws in Australia including the Australian Privacy Principles and Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code.
- Ability to lead multiple engagements across a broad range of industries is preferred
- Ability to provide insight based on past experience on recommended actions.
- Ability to navigate an organisational structure in a short amount of time.
- Be able to navigate challenges posed by clients and highlight risks as well as solutions for mitigating risks identified.
- Ability to demonstrate achievements in the privacy and data protection as part of your role(s)
- Awareness of changes occurring globally in the privacy and data protection space
- Experience in Risk Assessment and ISO27001 management systems and Cyber Security management is desired
