Wood is currently recruiting for a Graduate HR Advisor for our Melbourne based graduate program starting in February 2024 .
Situated at the Paris end of Collins Street Melbourne, this position will report directly to the HR Manager with its primary objective being to provide support to the HR team in order to effectively and efficiently manage HR operations, enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, and contribute to the achievement of Wood’s goals and objectives.
What will I do?
This role wil be involved with:
Assisting with the recruitment process, including posting job ads, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews. Onboarding new employees, including conducting orientation and conducting new hire paperwork. Assisting with employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and answering employee questions. Providing support for employee relations issues, including handling employee complaints and conducting investigations. Assisting with performance management processes, including performance evaluations and coaching sessions. Administering HR-related policies and procedures Maintaining employee files and HR databases, ensuring all employee information is up to date and accurate. Assisting with the administration of leave of absence requests, including short-term disability, family and medical leave, and personal time off. Participating in HR projects and initiatives, including diversity and inclusion programs, wellness initiatives, and training programs. Staying up-to-date with employment laws and regulations and ensuring HR policies and practices are in compliance. So what do you get in return? Our graduate value proposition (GVP):

Qualifications
Recently attained human resources certification through AHRI or undertaking your final year of undergraduate study, majoring in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field.
Knowledge, skills and experience
Understanding of human resources concepts and practices, such as recruiting and selection, compensation and benefits, performance management, and employee relations. Familiarity with labor laws and regulations, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and the Fair Work Act. Personal attributes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as the role often involves counseling and advising employees on HR-related issues. Good organisational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, to handle complex employee issues. Be task driven, agile and with a bias for action High level of attention to detail, with a focus on written communication and working through checklists and volume data Exceptional stakeholder and relationship building skills (in person and virtually) Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
