Bi Test Analyst – Reporting Project

An initial 12 month contract, to work on a large program of work, focusing on a data and analytics project.

Currently in the Delivery phase, the Test Analyst will lead and undertake the testing for data & analytics, reporting and dashboard functionality required in this project. You will liaise closely with business product owners, business analysts, testers and vendors to successfully deliver complex and integrated reporting and data solutions that meet business needs.

The role reports to the Test Manager for day-to-day activities, in a matrix way to the Reporting, Business Process and Project Manager, and to the Director ICTS for HR purposes.

What you will be doing:

Working within an Agile delivery team:

Analyse requirements and user stories, working closely with business representatives and the project team to understand requirements and design

Formulate the appropriate test cases and test data to test the user stories and features

Perform test case execution and assist with defect analysis, resolution and re-testing

Produce test plans and test summary reports

Coordinate activities with the Integration Tester to ensure requirements involving interfaces can be tested end-to-end

Contribute to the various stages of testing – Functional, UAT, Regression, Integration, Post Verification Testing

Work closely with other members of the Reporting Team and the Test Team to achieve a collaborative and successful reporting solution

Attend and participate in the relevant Agile ceremonies.

About you:

3+ years’ experience in a similar Test Consultant/Analyst role and expeirnece using SQL to query report databases

Desirable skills and knowledge

Experience with the Appian platform, together with Confluence, Jira, and the X-Ray test add-on

Experience with Microsoft suite, MS PowerBI and a SAS analytics platform as well as ETL Testing and knowledge of modern test approaches

Demonstrated experience in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing test activities on large scale complex programs/projects, including expertise in Backend Testing, Data Warehouse Testing and BI Report Testing.

Demonstrated experience in manual testing of large-scale enterprise applications, including Functional, UAT, Regression, Integration and Post Verification Testing.

Proven strong defect management experience and ability to articulate the impacts of defects found to assist with Go, No-Go with consultation and facilitation of effective written and oral communications skills for use in a complex project environment.

Demonstrated ability to nurture, build and sustain internal and external relationships with team members, stakeholders and clients and to be responsive to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
