Role Description
The IS Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IS systems and infrastructure. The IS Systems Engineer will also work closely with other groups to ensure smooth and efficient operations of our company’s IS environment.
This position requires a strong knowledge of networking, cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, Active Directory, DNS, routing, firewall management, WiFi, storage, data management, Hyper-V virtualization, automation, and collaboration with other groups. The ideal candidate will be able to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively and work independently as well as part of a team.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Designing, testing, deploying and maintaining in-house and cloud infrastructure.
- Providing high-level technical support to software development teams as well as the broader business
- Monitor systems to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Configure and maintain servers, storage, and other network devices.
- Participating in the continuous improvement of processes and tools both within Core IS and software development teams.
- Interact with internal teams to design and develop solutions to complex technical issues.
- Act as a key subject matter expert for our customer business and technical challenges.
- Work with third-party vendors and contractors as needed.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on all systems.
- Manage and maintain Active Directory, DNS, and other identity management systems.
- Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure platforms.
About you

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Proven experience as an IT Systems Engineer or similar role
- Extensive knowledge of Networking, AWS, Azure, Active Directory, DNS, routing, Firewall management, Monitoring, and Storage
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications/systems using proven or emerging technologies, in complex IS environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- An understanding of current internet threats and IS security best practices
- Working knowledge of programming or scripting languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Certifications in relevant technologies like CCNA, AWS, or Azure are a plus
