    The DevOps team is part of the CISO branch, which manages the IDAM and Active Directory/Azure ecosystem for all identities in the Department of Education (DoE). They provide BAU support to ensure foundational services are maintained, also support ongoing Cyber Uplift and business initiatives to enhance the existing technology stack, improve user experience and JML workflows while complying with security and policy standards.

    About the role

    The Manager DevOps will manage the development and release of digital government services of Identity and Access Management for the NSW Department of Education. They will do this by continuously improving and continuously developing our build, testing and release management. They will provide oversight, escalation and managerial support to engineers, system operators and the project team to manage code releases and undertake related work using agile methodology.

    Essential requirements of the role

  • Industry certification in relevant technologies or equivalent industry experience.
  • A Valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
  • Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s and upholding the and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • Substantial experience in managing software application development.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team of specialist application developers.
  • About you

    The ideal candidate for this role should be an experienced IDAM professional with a strong track record of managing teams, a deep understanding of contemporary IDAM technologies and practices, including project delivery experience, well versed in agile methodology and excellent technical and non-technical communication skills to effectively navigate a complex environment.

    They should work independently and demonstrate highly proactive work practices, have excellent problem-solving skills, and work collaboratively with stakeholders in a large and dynamic organisation.
