The opportunity
Our client is a leader in the superannuation field. Due to growth, they are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join their team. Melbourne CBD based role, hybrid work from home available. Open to applications from both permanent candidates and daily rate contractors – salary negotiable

The role
You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity and performance of hybrid cloud and on-prem systems infrastructure, during both build and run phase activities. You will also provide support to other Technology team members and vendor resources for designing and enhancing cloud capabilities, provide BAU support for the residual on-prem infrastructure, and assist with training and cross-skilling other team members.

Core Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the stability, integrity and performance of IT assets including cloud systems and services, hybrid integrations, and on-premise infrastructure and networks
• Administration of Windows and Linux infrastructure in partnership with vendors, with a focus on Microsoft stack including AADC, ADFS, IIS, Exchamgem SCCM, SQL and SharePoint
• Performing the assessments and providing recommendations to the Senior Security Officer for Product, and Vendor Security Reviews/assessments
• Performing threat feed assessments and assessing the patching / mitigating controls available and required for when new vulnerabilities are announced
• Delivering specific technical security uplift items at the direction of the Senior Security Officer.

About you
To apply for this excellent opportunity, you will need the following:

• Significant systems and/or technical analysis experience preferably in the financial services industry
• Tertiary qualifications, with Certifications in Azure Cloud, as well as certifications such as ITIL, Cirtiz/VMWare, and other Microsoft certifications
• Strong experience with migration and management of Cloud Services and providers such as MS Azure
• Experience in operating in a hybrid environment (on premise / cloud)
• Strong experience in Microsoft Windows administration and development and use of scripting (PowerShell, VBScript) and installation procedures, particularly in relation to automation
• Strong experience across AD and Group Policy management, VMware, vSAN, Windows Server Operating Systems, SCCM / Intune, ITIL and ITSM
• Experience in vendor liaison
• Desirable to have skills / experience across Networking (Cisco and HP switching), NSX network switching, Firewall management, SRM, Aruba WIFI management
• Microsoft Support Experience up to level 3 as an escalation point
• Exceptional communication, teamwork, analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong customer liaison experience and ability to maintain effective stakeholder relationships
• Proficient in writing Functional and Technical specifications documents
