About the Role

The Digital and Information Services Branch delivers agile and transformative information and technology services, enabling council to be a leader in providing innovative and sustainable essential services to its communities

As an Analyst/Developer in the Development and Integration team you will assist in delivering Council’s Integration Platform that ensures the integrity and performance of data exchange between corporate applications. You’ll also get to work on and maintain software applications, both internal to council and community facing. In-house built public web applications include Development.i, Disaster Hub, Roads Hub and Adventure Sunshine Coast.

Key duties: –

  • Design, development, testing and ongoing maintenance of secure software applications and integrations that meet user-defined specifications and adhere to software quality design principles
  • Assist in high level technical evaluations of applications software to ensure integration and security with Council’s corporate systems and infrastructure compatibility
  • Consult with the DevOps Engineers on proactive monitoring, support, and maintenance of in-house developed software.
  • Monitor the progress of subcontractors engaged on specific sub-projects, provide technical assistance, conduct code reviews and mentor other team members as necessary.

This position has recently relocated to Sunshine Coast City Hall, based in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.

About you

As a skilled and experienced .NET developer you will
 

  • Have the ability to write quality testable code with an emphasis on security, efficiency, reliability, readability, and maintainability.
  • Be able to work well as part of a team and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have significant experience with C# and .NET 6, as well as web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET).
  • Bring unique skills to the team – Geospatial mapping and analysis, Azure Synapse Analytics or Cyber Security skills would be highly regarded.

As a requirement of this role, you will possess a minimum Bachelor degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (or other recognised relevant degree which includes subjects in Software Development and Analysis) and/or substantial proven relevant industry experience – including industry recognised qualifications and assessments.
