Food Services Ambassador
Permanent part-time positions – 15 hours per week

The Role
The Food Services Ambassador is responsible for the accurate and timely coordination of ward-based patient menu selection, assisting in the preparation, service, delivery and collection of food and beverages.

This is a permanent part-time role and located in a lovely bayside suburb, close to the beach and cafes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Works efficiently and collaboratively with ward and food service staff ensuring a collaborative partnership and cooperation.
• Take and record food orders from patients in delegate based on dietary information as provided by clinical and/or Allied Health staff, ensure menu selections are completed within the required timeframes.
• Cross checks patient orders against their clinically assigned diet type and specified needs.
• Undertakes effective communication of information with patients and staff to ensure optimal, quality service provision.
• Assists nursing staff with opening of packets and positioning of food and beverages such that patients are able to access them with comfort.
• Filing & collecting water jugs, and assistance with insertion of straws.
• Collection of meal trays, crockery, glassware, and cutlery as required, and cleans trolleys and benches.

About you
The successful candidate will bring their high standard of customer service delivery, from a healthcare setting, desirable.

You will have:

• Food Handlers Certificate (or the willingness to undertake at Cabrini).
• Customer service experience in hospitality, preferably from a healthcare setting.
• Proficient in computers and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Knowledge of nutritional diet codes and terminology, or willing to learn them.
• Demonstrated understanding of Food safety.
• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and collaboratively within a team
• A valid Working with Children’s Permit.

Cabrini is a healthcare provider that is captured by the COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination requirements released by the Victorian government. It is a condition of employment that all staff receive the required vaccines, unless they have a relevant medical exemption. Vaccination evidence or evidence of a medical contraindication must be provided prior to commencement.

As per Cabrini policy, a mandatory copy of a current (under 12 months) police record check must be provided prior to the commencement date.
