Elements of Byron is an award-winning beach front resort nestled on 50 acres of absolute beach front paradise. Since opening in 2016, Elements of Byron has experienced high demand as a Groups and Special Event venue and is now established as the preferred Groups & Event destination in Byron Bay.

Consisting of 202 luxury freestanding villas with eight different villa options we are designed to delight every kind of visitor. We have a beautiful central Lagoon pool, an award-winning Adults only pool and multiple food and beverage outlets that include, Breeze Café and Azure Restaurant. We offer Barefoot luxury at every step.

Reporting to our General Manager, the Groups & Events Sales Manager, is the custodian of the resorts group and events sales targets and in consultation with our GM the subsequent strategy. You will manage group block and event enquiries from the initial enquiry stage through to event commencement, ensuring that all group and event information is effectively communicated internally to all relevant operational departments.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain a strong reporting function within the sales and catering system to aid with enquiry conversions, revenue, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Assist the General Manager to ensure that budgeted revenue is achieved for the department.
  • Maintain all event documentation for internal and external collateral.
  • Create business development strategies to reach new audiences.
  • Engage and performance manage any external sales agency relationships.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with external and internal customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare client contracts.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of groups and events SOP’s, policies, and procedures.
  • Conducting site inspections with potential clients.
  • Prepare quotations and create suitable event packages.
  • Prompt and accurate completion of client contracts.
  • Completion and distribution of banquet event and purchase orders.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in hotel/resort industry is essential, 1-3 years+.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in the coordination and/or delivery of events; or in the operations of a food or beverage outlet.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to successful navigate the sales and negotiation components of the role.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to connect, build and develop strong rapport.
  • A great team player who proactively looks to assist others where possible.
  • A fine eye for detail is paramount.
  • Professional, patient and calm in high stress situations.
  • System knowledge of Delphi or similar software.
  • Intermediate level MS Office skills.
  • Working hours are Mon – Fri, but we ask for your flexibility and the ability to work weekends when required.
  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia and be an Australian citizen or resident.
