The Opportunity

We are looking for a Marine IT Network and Telecoms Specialist to join the team which will deliver functional expertise, leadership and support for the communications systems in use by Fugro’s fleet of vessels including all remote application. 

Provide technical expertise, direction, and assistance to personnel involved in operating and supporting all Remote Operations;

Support IP and RF networks, implement changes via Change Management Process, and troubleshoot networks as required;

Mobilise, maintain, support, and demobilise remote connectivity equipment that is used in Fugro’s operations;

Design & improve connectivity systems, including, but not limited to VSAT and extensions to Fugro corporate networks, by taking into consideration the bandwidth & infrastructure requirements, security and potential network expansion;

Reviews requirements (e.g. bandwidth), then implements the new infrastructure on vessels together with stakeholders, based on global designs;

About You

Your success in securing this role will require: 

Bachelors degree in IT, engineering or equivalent

Comprehensive understanding of backbone network technology utilised by VSAT service providers and its application towards their customers

Client focus; ability to understand client needs, build strong relationships and add value

Willingness to travel to site and offshore locations required

Advantageous, not necessary: 

Cisco Certification i.e. CCNA, CCNP and GVF certification 

Experience in networking platforms such as Ubiquiti, Pepwave and Cradlepoints
