About the role:
As a Software Engineer you could work with bleeding edge technology as you build innovative fintech products that change the way the world pays, banks and invests. This will involve developing core versions of software applications, identifying client requirements and technical specifications, interacting with engineering groups and training clients on applications.

We manage multiple java-based applications for financial technology solutions for major financial institutions in Australia. Split over several geographical locations, we work collaboratively on interesting technological enhancements, aimed at keeping our platforms up-to-date with modern technologies. What you will be doing:

Coding, code review, debugging, analysis, (technical) testing and feature enhancements.

Writing technical specifications and other forms of documentation as needed.

Suggesting technical alternatives and improve/streamline processes and systems.

Analysis and translation of business requirements into product designs and user stories.

Coordinating with architecture and product groups, estimating task size and breakdown of work.

Contribute to team meetings, providing suggestions and raising concerns where necessary.

Providing application software development services following Agile and Waterfall SDLCs.

What you will need:

Experience with end-to-end systems development life cycles and standards.

Fluency in sequence diagrams, class models, etc.

Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines.

A bachelor’s in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or equivalent experience.

Working experience and knowledge in:Spring BootJava-based Micro-servicesSource code management, preferably Git / BitBucketRelease train and deployment flows; JenkinsTest-driven development (TDD)SOLID programming principles

Linux Containerisation; Docker, Kubernetes/Red Hat Open Shift.

Excellent communicator:Concise status updates at a business level.Ability to call out progress blockers and assess impact to the solution.

Attention to detail – high quality documentation, close analysis of business requirements.

Organised approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements.

Added bonus if you have:

Payments/Fintech experience.

Java performance analysis experience.

Agile – SCRUM, SAFE methodology preferred.

Other nice-to-have technology experience: JPA, MQSeries, Kafka, Junit, , JavaScript.
