Purpose of Role:

  • Reporting to the Test & Commissioning Lead, the Systems Integration T&C Engineer is responsible for leading the T&C activities related to the overall rail systems by following project strategy, company policies (including EHS, railway safety, local regulation and professional standard) and project QCD targets.
  • This is a field role supports our activities in the Pilbara. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop T&C procedures for sub-system based on defined specifications in area of specialization to meet contractual requirements.
  • Guide specialist engineers during site activities.
  • Prepare ahead of a test session (install/configure SW tools on your PC, understand signalling principles and telecommunication systems).
  • Execute the tests, analyse the results (organise electrical and/or system troubleshooting if necessary) and write test reports.
  • Contribute to both the engineering phase (first of class) and acceptance phase (including series).
  • Report and follow up on the issues with various teams in the project (System Engineering, Detailed Design Engineering, Installation, Safety, Quality, R&D and Maintenance)
  • Coordinate with the customer for organisational (support of train drivers or maintainers when needed) and technical purposes.
  • Follow up on the availability of the hardware tools and calibration status.
  • Provide technical leadership to individuals or teams for tools, procedure and in resolving problems.
  • Lead or participate in technical discussions for his subsystem directly with customer and represents / protects the company’s interest.
  • Report on the anomalies arising during site testing and interfaces with engineering team towards to close the anomaly.
  • Ensure that all design related issues are correctly reported in the adequate tools, including the defect description and associated test context.

Qualifications / Competencies / Skills

  • Master’s degree in engineering (preferably electronics or embedded systems) or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of CBTC / ETCS standards, radio communication based signalling for fixed and moving blocks.
  • Experience in commissioning railway signalling systems in brownfield environment, experience in mining industry is a plus.
  • Flexibility and mobility, available for short or long mission in different locations and countries.
  • Rigorous & team player.
  • Resilience, with an analytic way of thinking in order to solve complex system failures.
  • Customer satisfaction and results orientated.
