Database & Software Engineer

Kinetic Logging Services Pty Ltd is a division of EPIROC and is a leading supplier of geophysical services in Australia, with offices in Perth, Newman and Brisbane.

We provide a Unique and Flagship service to the Mining Industry called OreSight! OreSight is a Semi Autonomous Vehicle, that operates under one of our Field Engineers to collect Geophysical Data for our clients.

So what does that mean? It means that our tools within our vehicles analyse what type of material/measures the density, down each Blast Hole in Pit Production sites and Exploration areas. 

We are seeking an experienced Database & Software Engineer to join our friendly Kewdale team on a permanent basis!

The Role:

As a Database & Software Engineer, you will develop, design and implement our database programs, whilst providing technical support and implementing appropriate improvements after the system has been delivered!

Responsibilities:

• Develop, design, and implement stable, reliable and effective databases
• Optimise and maintain legacy systems
• Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
• Solve database issues and malfunctions
• Liase with developers, supervisors and management to improve applications and establish best practices
• Develop technicial and training manuals
• Provide data management support to users
• Programming of internal applications as required
• General administration, support of our field data collection equipment & real time operations centre’

About You:

• Ideally 5+ years experience as a Software/Database Developer
• Bachelor’s degree or above in relevant field
• In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)
• Proven experience with SQL and mySQL databases
• Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
• Proven ability working with .Net Framework, C#, JavaScript, HTML, Matlab and Python
• Familiarity with PowerBI highly desirable
• Excellent analytical and organization skills
• Familiarity with the Agile work methodology
• An ability to understand front-end users requirements and a problem-solving attitude
• Must be able to work within a team, but with autonomy to pursue independent ideas
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to hit the ground running
