Job Description

Position: Head Chef (Full Time)
Cafe: Fitzroy Pub

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our team at a pub in Fitzroy. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing the kitchen, the kitchen team, planning and developing menus, and ensuring that our customers receive high-quality meals.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen

Develop menus that align with the cafe’s concept and customer needs

Train and mentor kitchen staff

Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet our standards

Manage food and labor costs

Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment

Liaise with the management team and suppliers

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a busy kitchen environment

Strong leadership skills

Ability to develop and implement menus

Ability to manage a team and work under pressure

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
