Position Details

St Francis Xavier Primary School is a vibrant learning environment, catering for students in a co-educational setting from 3 Year Old Kindergarten – Year 6.

The school is seeking an inspiring educator, committed to fostering a love of learning, enhancing student engagement and improving outcomes for all students.

The school invites suitable applicants to apply for a full time Assistant Principal position, commencing Term 2, 24th April 2023.

Selection Criteria

• Gives personal witness to Catholic values in carrying out the day to day duties of the role and engaging students, staff and broader community in the mission of St Francis Xavier as a Catholic school.
• Actively promotes a culture of learning and continual improvements, with a focus on learning gains for all students.
• Has strong understanding of current educational practices.
• Develops and maintains structures and strategies for effective liasion, consultation, collaboration and partnership with parents with a focus on student achievement, wellbeing, safety and resilience.
• Experience in data collection and analysis at a student, classroom and whole school level with the ability to lead staff in the interpretation of such data.
• Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with all students, staff, families and Parish.
• An understanding of requirements and best practices for working with SWD, NCCD, EAL/D.
• Experience in Gifted and Talented Education.

Qualifications Required

• Relevant four year tertiary qualification.
• Must have or commenced Accreditation to Lead in a Catholic School
• A Minimum of seven years relevant educational experience
• The intial contract of the Assistant Principal will be for three years.
