Chef De Partie

Ready for a sizzling career move? You will play a pivotal role in our kitchen working alongside a fantastic team. The food you prepare, cook and serve makes our guests smile and wanting more. We have a new opportunity for an energetic and passionate Chef De Partie at the Mercure & Novotel Darwin Airport Hotels.

What you will be doing:

• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen’s and related outlets.
• Management of the restaurant, room service, bar and conference food service operations on a day-to-day basis in the absence of the sous chefs and Head chef.
• Liaise with Restaurant employees regarding the availability of menu items, additions to the menu and any relevant changes.
• Supervision of the kitchen in the absence of the Head and Sous Chefs.  Delegate duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met.
• Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
• Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage, and have stock control procedures implemented and maintained.
• Any other duties assigned by your manager.

Your experience and skills include:

• Chef trade qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively – able to take direction and lead the team.
• Impeccable knife skills
• Willing to work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
