About the role

Our IT Governance team have an opportunity for an IT Governance Specialist to join their team and play a key part in the implementation of Youi’s IT Governance Framework. You will play a hands-on role in managing first line IT risk management and governance practices, IT compliance and first line IT assurance. As part of this role, you will contribute with oversight, uplifting processes, improving control’s effectiveness, and generating value in IT through risk-based decisions.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Youi’s IT Governance Framework

  • Maintain Youi’s IT and Cyber Security control governance framework.
  • IT governance reporting, IT policy creation, reviews, and updates.
  • IT process analysis and processes improvement recommendations.
  • Monitor and measure IT governance metrics.
  • Participate in internal and external audit engagements.
  • Collaborate and deliver key IT governance initiatives.
  • First Line IT Risk Management

  • Facilitate IT risk reviews and assessments with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain IT enterprise risk register with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain IT Key Risk Indicator (KRI) dashboards.
  • Managing end-toend process for IT risk Incidents.
  • Manage IT issues and findings.
  • Facilitate business continuity management activities.
  • IT Compliance

  • Monitor compliance requirements and prepare key documentation to the regulators.
  • First Line IT Assurance

  • IT Controls Assurance – First Line of Defence (1LOD).
  • Cyber Security Controls Assurance – 1LOD.
  • Process mapping and identifying gaps.
  • Communicate gaps to the controls owners and facilitate the process for remediation activities (including control’s optimisation and processes improvements).
  • Assist with 1LOD assurance planning activities and reporting requirements as required.
  • About you

  • Relevant qualification in information technology, risk management, commerce, business, finance, or other related fields.
  • As a Specialist, you will need to have demonstrated experience in a role with similar responsibilities.
  • Business and report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly organised.
  • Passion for technology.
  • High level of integrity and professional accountability.
  • Ability to embrace change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain knowledge, skills, and qualifications/memberships as necessary.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to hit the ground running through proven experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management at all levels of the business.
  • Proactive in identifying obligations, risks, and opportunities.
  • Advantageous

  • Further qualifications in line with position objectives
  • Experience in the insurance industry
  • Cyber Security GRC, Data analytics and data governance skills
  • Knowledge in practical application of APRA CPS 234 Information Security
  • Knowledge of the Australian Privacy Principles, and APRA regulations relevant to IT
