Technical skills are often easy to teach, but if you have the ability to clearly communicate ideas and concepts with our clients, are interested in pre-sales but do not want to lose the hands-on skills you have worked so hard to acquire, we would love to hear from you. Even though your specialty will be databases, you will gain an understanding of the underlying platforms and data delivery mechanisms. We will also look favourably upon Oracle and/or DB2 skills in addition to SQL Server. But wait, there’s more! You’ll be getting your hands dirty on leading technology!

Due to continuing growth and expansion in the business, we are seeking two MS SQL Server Consultants to join our team on permanent positions. These roles are available to candidates based in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Working at NTT

• Taking the initiative and leading our clients on their Database journey
• Develop requirements and technical specifications documents, estimate time and effort required to implement solutions and size databases
• Undertake technical discussions with client stakeholders and formulate and present solutions that match their requirements
• Grasp new SQL Server-related technologies easily and provide thought leadership to our clients
• Work cross-functionally with our Business Development Managers and Managed Service DBA teams to ensure alignment and the ability to execute

What will make you a good fit for the role?

• Advanced to Expert level experience in Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience in Presales including preparing statements of work, requirements scoping, solution design and presentation and contributing to proposal preparation
• Proven SQL Server Design and Installation experience
• Worked with a variety of SQL Server versions from 2005 to 2019
• The ability to read, understand and produce detailed technical artefacts and present solutions to stakeholders
• Excellent skills with Performance investigations, reporting and tuning
• Knowledge and experience designing and implementing SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery capabilities including Always On Availability Groups and Log Shipping
• Experience working with Windows Server failover clusters
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills
• Azure or AWS experience would be highly regarded
• Australian Citizenship or an existing Baseline or NV1 security clearance would be advantageous
