Science/stem/inquiry Leader, Catholic Primary, Caroline Springs

We are currently seeking a Primary Science/STEM/Inquiry Leading Teacher to join a Catholic Primary school in Caroline Springs, Melbourne, for a Term 2 start. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Years F-6 Science/STEM for 3 days a week and Lead the Inquiry Initiative in the school.
Begin in the last week of Term 1 for a handover, with a proper start in Week 1, Term 2.

The Catholic Primary School has around 700 students in straight classes, with new building works set to finish end of May. The schools has a large focus on respect, teamwork and dignity for both its students and staff.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Science/STEM lessons lessons to students in Years F-6.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and wellbeing

Develop and implement assessment strategies that provide timely and constructive feedback to students

Collaborate with colleagues toto ensure consistent Inquiry planning throughout the school

Support teams/teachers with planning and overview of Inquiry based lessons in alignment with the curriculum ensuring keeping with the Scope & Sequence Model

Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents and carers about student progress and achievement

Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching and learning practice

Requirements:

Relevant tertiary qualifications

Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration

Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum

Catholic teaching background/faith ideal

Experience teaching Primary students and Leading

Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

A commitment to ongoing professional learning and development

A willingness to contribute to the school community and extra-curricular programs
