The Storm Group is comprised of two elite sporting teams within Australia, the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club and the Sunshine Coast Lightning Netball Club. Melbourne Storm is an Australian professional rugby league club playing in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition and The Sunshine Coast Lightning netball franchise participates in the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) league. Both teams have experienced substantial growth and success within their short history.

About the role

Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Membership Sales Manager, we are looking for someone ready and passionate to take a step up into our Membership Sales Executive role. If you are a proactive, energetic, sales and service focused individual, who can work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team and is motivated by daily targets, then read on!

This role is responsible for the achievement of daily sales figures, through a combination of inbound and outbound calls to members and prospects. The ability to identify new member prospects and upgrade membership packages is paramount to success in this role, as is the proven ability to motivate a team of people to deliver on targets and KPI’s, while creating an “up and about” sales environment and culture.

The Membership Sales Executive will be responsible for executing all plans with a sales and service focus, driving team performance across sales and service in the membership team and coaching team members as required. Assisting in the acquisition, retention and growth of membership numbers and revenue for Melbourne Storm is the overall objective for this key role in our Membership team.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and executing sales plans to grow membership numbers and Club revenue.
  • Generating membership leads using existing database, referrals and other relevant campaigns to meet sales targets.
  • Driving individual and team KPIs across sales and service.
  • Creating retention strategies to ensure membership retention targets are met.
  • Developing proactive sales techniques to elevate members to higher yield membership categories.
  • Ensuring that all additional benefits contained within Melbourne Storm’s Club House Membership offering are consistently delivered.
  • Bringing a sales focus to each and every membership interaction.
  • Coaching and mentoring Membership Sales Representatives to achieve sales and service KPIs and targets.
  • Acting as a positive advocate and promoting Melbourne Storm and Sunshine Coast Lighting at all times.
  • Due to the nature of the role the successful applicant must be available to work at Storm home games at AAMI Park throughout the season, with the possibility of a working role at other club functions and junior clinics, as required.

    To be considered for this opportunity you will have:

  • An exceptional sales and service focus with a drive to meet targets.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a membership or sales role/team.
  • An outstanding phone manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive relationships at all levels.
  • An energetic and resilient attitude with a willingness to take on varied tasks and display initiative.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or coaching role is desirable.
  • Experience working in a sporting club environment and/or knowledge of the Archtics and Fortis systems would be highly regarded.
