Social Research Analyst (Casual)

- $47.4475 per hour plus 25% casual loading
Reporting to the Team Leader Social Research Analyst, the role will be responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis and dissemination of social, health and demographic data to assist planning, policy and service delivery functions of Council departments and community organisations.
A little bit about the role
The Social Research Analyst will be engaged on a casual basis in support of a VicHealth Alcohol Prevention Grant 2023 to assist in the identification of current and future community needs, demands, expectations and aspirations as they relate to social planning.
The role also provides advice on appropriate research, analysis and evaluation techniques that strengthen Council’s ability to shape and influence community building and wellbeing. This role contributes research insights gathered from a comprehensive suite of quantitative and qualitative research to ensure the voice of the community is at the heart of Council’s projects.
A little bit about you
We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with highly developed social research skills coupled with applied experience in designing and conducting research and analysing data (both qualitative & quantitative).
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will have a detailed and practical understanding of research databases and ability to present and translate data to internal and external stakeholders.
You will also have proven experience working effectively in multi-disciplinary project teams along with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative strategies and solutions to problems.
Qualifications and Employment Requirements
- Undertaking or have completed a postgraduate qualification in social sciences or a related discipline.
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
- Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a Police Check National Police Record Check.
- All local government employees must be fully vaccinated to perform work outside their place of residence. Appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to provision of evidence of vaccination status or medical exemption prior to commencement.
