Our Purpose
Reporting to the Cloud Data Engineer – Principal Data Engineer this is a fabulous opportunity to collaborate closely with business SMEs, Principal Engineers and Leads Senior Data Engineers and Data Engineers to design, build and deploy data solutions to enable effective and efficient value realisation from EnergyAustralia’s data. As a senior member of the Data Engineering discipline this role, in addition to its core focus of data ingestion and integration delivery you will lead the solution design, build, execution and maintenance of a data centre of excellence, which will actively contribute to the functional capability of data service across our fully budgeted Capability roadmap to include frameworks, patterns, pipelines, toolset configuration, stakeholder management and broader team upskilling coaching sessions.

You will need to understand the broader scope, keeping an eye on many moving parts that is typical of large-scale programs of work. This role will be instrumental to deliver our technology solution roadmap by utilising your experience and skills in the following areas;
- Significant experience minimum 15 years in Cloud Data Engineering, design and exposure to multiple cloud data platforms in a similar “Lead” level position
- Superior communication and influencing skills working across a matrix organisation and functional departments
- Tertiary qualification in Bachelor or Master degree on IT or equivalent field compliment your industry experience
- Experience (and relevant certifications) in AWS cloud data environments including tools such as S3, EMR/EC2, Lambda, Glue, Airflow, Redshift, Databricks, Talend, Tableau, PowerBI, Kafka/streaming technologies, Spark, + Azure DevOps
- Expert big data and query language skills such as SQL, Java, Python, R, PySpark
- Experience establishing, curating, and maintaining Logical and Physical data models
- Experience designing, developing, and publishing data ETL pipelines
