Staff Software Engineer

$200-220k plus super and bonus

Our client, one of the worlds largest financial institutions, is looking to build its engineering capability in a key area of their business. Growing technical capability within the engineering organisation is key for any technology focused organisation, but your ingenuity and collaborative skills are required to help drive application improvement and better outcomes for users.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for:

Proficiency in an object orientated programming language
Experience providing leadership and coaching to junior and mid-level engineers
The ability to drive consensus and change, and challenge ingrained thinking
Work with non technical stakeholders to improve applications for users
Collaborate with cross functional teams
Develop and improve software engineering best practice within your team and broader engineering organisation

You are the glue in your current engineering organisation. The person who keeps things together and moving along, a connector of dots and foreseer of coming roadblocks. You enjoy working with different groups of people and questioning the status quo, and consider yourself a technologist at heart.
