Working for this technology company as a Senior Network Engineer you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the networks that support core organisational functions and ensure their continued high availability. The role also includes a focus on continuous improvement and automation of key network functions

Key Activities

• Provide second and third level network management to support operations
• Ensure availability targets are met for all network systems
• Provide ongoing improvements to the network and ensure measurable increases in efficiencies
• Ensure network security compliance targets are met and all patches are up to date, in accordance with Patch Management Plans
• Liaise with Customers to keep them informed of network related incidents or requests with time frame for resolution
• Implement solutions to improve the efficiency of the network, focusing on automation and simplification where possible
• Contribute to the continuing development of Network processes, procedures, standards and methodologies
• Identify and implement improvements to the network to increase systems stability, improve end user performance
• Perform peer reviews on Network changes as required, ensuring Changes to the Network are adequately risk-assessed

Skills and experience

• Significant experience as a Network Engineer within a large enterprise environment
• Advanced configuration knowledge and experience of Cisco Routers, Wireless, and Switches
• Solid configuration knowledge and experience in security products such as Palo Alto and F5
• Previous experience working in an ITIL environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills (written and oral) with the ability to deal effectively with both internal and external personnel at all levels
• Experience in network automation and demonstrated ability to drive efficiency through automation and simplification of technologies and processes
• Previous experience in products such as Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE highly regarded but not mandatory
