The L3Harris Australia region is going through an exciting transition to an IT Shared Services model to align to the IT capabilities of our US counterparts so you will be joining a team of three IT professionals onsite in Eight Mile Plains and a brand new wider IT Shared Services team across Australia. You will be supporting local projects as well as being involved in L3Harris enterprise IT projects.
This transition exposes the local IT Teams to hardware and software solutions on a global scale and as the business grows there are development opportunities to grow your skillset and specialise in areas that interest you.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Administration and Support (System Owner) of the ARAS PLM (training will be provided for ARAS with internal and external training options available)
- Priority IT support for a subset of key L3Harris Projects
- Action IT requests via the IT Service Desk and provide technical support to users as required.
- Contribute to the IT team knowledge base in SharePoint
- Assist in implementation of IT solutions, including procedures, policies, diagrams and guides
- Develop new ideas and methods to improve on current processes to save time or improve the quality of service provided.
- Manage user accounts (adding, deleting, password changes etc.)
- Participate with corporate projects, initiatives and data requests
- Purchase, installation, configuration, maintenance of computer equipment and support of software applications
- Research and recommend computer equipment and system upgrades
- Assist in development of automation tools, configuration management, and scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time
- Maintain IT related manufacturing hardware including touchscreens and equipment with embedded Windows systems.
- Sanitisation of equipment (running of tools to wipe equipment or restore to factory defaults)
- Purchase, installation, configuration and maintenance of desktop resources
- Liaising with IT contractors, suppliers & warranty services
- Management of the phone system (phone setup, number changes etc.)
What you’ll bring
The role of IT Desktop Support requires the following experience and skills:
- Tertiary qualification in IT (or similar)
- Solid understanding of Windows end-user platforms (with basic skill in UNIX).
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Server Management (e.g., DNS,DHCP, GPOs, AD)
- Basic understanding of Networking, Firewalls & Routing.
- Basic understanding monitoring systems
Desirable:
- Understanding of Windows 10 Deployment (MDT/MECM)
- Understanding of Windows SQL Databases Management
- Understanding of Panasonic Phone Systems
- Understanding of Scripting & Automation (e.g. PowerShell)
- Background in a Security focused environment
- Background in a Quality focused environment
- Experience in wring policies, procedures and work instructions
