To be eligible to apply for this position you must be employed by Western Sydney University on an ongoing, fixed term or casual basis at the time of this advertisement.About Academy U In 2022, the Office of Engagement and Advancement at Western Sydney University launched a pilot high potential school engagement program, Academy U: Unlimited Potential. The program targets high potential Year 9 to Year 12 students within the Western Sydney region, with the objective to increase enrolment of high potential students with ATAR attainment of 80+ at Western. As part of this program Year 11 students will complete a first year University subject delivered by The Academy. The subject selected is “Leadership in Complexity” for the pilot year, with other subjects to be added in future. The subject will house both Academy U students as well as university students. About the RoleThe Office of Engagement and Advancement are seeking an Academy Lecturer to join the team to provide subject coordination and teaching. The position will work closely with the other members of the Portfolio, to lead, plan, and manage effective curriculum and teaching renewal within the Academy with particular reference to the pilot Academy U student cohort. This will include developing and supporting:• Review of level 1 units within the Academy for teaching material and delivery considerations; • Assistance in creation of new subject material that will be housed within the Academy;• Effective use of qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate and improve student learning; • Evidence-based quality improvements and recognition of excellence in educational practice. The position will further enhance collaborative relationships with Schools and other portfolios, to enable and facilitate the work of the Academy. This position is part-time (0.6 FTE) 21 hours per week for 12 months located at Hawkesbury Campus. The University conducts its business across multiple campuses and this position is required to travel to and work from multiple campuses.Remuneration Package: Academic Level B (pro-rata rates) $78,682 to $92,843 p.a.
