Job Description
The role of the Principal Systems Engineer – Interface Management will be to manage and take ownership of successfully coordinating and managing all key interfaces and be responsible for managing and updating the interface documentation for definition and control throughout their life cycle.
- Ensure that the Systems Assurance and Governance regime is effective with identified, documented and approved processes such that the projects achieve the required functional, governance, safety outcomes and Independent Safety Assessor audit compliance.
- Provide project specific systems engineering support, particularly during project setup for novel/complex projects as directed by the Systems Assurance Manager / Chief Engineer;
- Promote clear and consistent communication among the involved project team members, and to coordinate communication to external stakeholders, for transmitting interface information.
- Ensure interface management process is effective and aligned to processes of the project Systems Assurance and governance regime for required project outcome.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in a related engineering, systems engineering or business discipline.
- Interface Management experience for Railway systems and integrating systems together including those delivered by separate contracting parties highly desirable.
- Must have an Australian Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
