It Security Manager

Job description

The IT Technical Security Manager role is accountable for managing the IT Security Team and works with the CISO to ensure the day-to-day security operations are functioning to protect the organisation from cyber threats.

This includes ensuring the security strategy, security framework, and that security policies and standards are followed.

This role will conduct security assessments and compliance activities, manage key security activities including third party risk assessment and security awareness campaigns.

Responsibilities

Complete risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities to digital assets as required and ensure risk management activities and practises are applied to all tasks

Role model leadership behaviours that demonstrate effective management of team member’s performance

Ensure key security and risk metrics as well as phishing campaigns results are reported monthly

Manage Incident response in the event of a security breach or a cyber-attack

Ensure that they comply with relevant regulatory standards and regulations

Ensure patching for identified vulnerabilities are completed monthly

Monitor all operations and infrastructure to understand any cyber threats to the organisation

Maintain the IT Security policy, procedures and standards updated, and report deviations identified through day-to-day operations.

Manage physical security systems

Adhere to all WHS requirements of the organisation and relevant associated legislation.

Skills

Hands on role – Being able to resolve incidents & help internal and external teams

· Demonstrated experience in managing security teams

· Experience with Industry standard security tools

· Agile project methodology capabilities

 · Customer/ Member fist approach to Service/product design and delivery

 · Innovation and digital process re- design experience

· Demonstrated willingness to embrace organisational change including use of modern technology and an ability to analyse and problem solve in the context of change and continuous improvement
