Journalist / Announcer – Spencer Gulf

About the role:

  • Sourcing, producing and presenting content for national news bulletins & and on-air shows to a high standard, with a focus on topicality, accuracy, relatability and credibility.
  • Deciding the daily news & and show content agenda for Magic 105.9, 5AU & 5CS.
  • Presenting the on-air content in a credible, engaging style, while also applying developmental feedback.
  • Making sure all bulletins and& shows are recorded and saved to the network feed, within a timely manner.
  • Making a positive contribution to the co-operative culture of the Programming team and the Spencer Gulf Broadcasters offices.
  • Adhering to the Journalist Code of Ethics & and CRA Codes of Practice, covering fairness, financial gain and general editorial responsibilities.
  • Actively engaging in ARN News & and local Programming operations.
  • About you:

  • Be able to work across a seven-day operational roster, including weekends and early mornings.
  • Exceptional writing and interviewing skills
  • Appropriate qualification in Communications/Journalism, or relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Local Area Licence Compliance requirements (highly desirable).
  • Experience using News Boss & and Zetta computer systems and MS Suite of products.
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian media law & CRA Codes of Practice
  • An open motor vehicle licence in Australia
