The Company
Established Australian company which designs and manufactures a wide range of industrial equipment. The main industries this company supplies to is agricultural, industrial, automotive, mining, aviation and marine. The range of products is low cost, but very high volume. Based in NSW, the company has circa 120 headcount across the business, including engineering and manufacturing. This is an exciting time to join the business as they go through their next stage of major growth and international expansion. The business has been performing very well over the last 5 years.

The Opportunity
This is a full-time position reporting to the Head of Global Operations. The Operations Manager will look after all manufacturing and supply chain activities of a single industrial manufacturing facility here in Sydney. Direct Reports: 4. Indirect Reports: 40. To be successful in this role you will need to be an empathetic leader with tact. There is plenty of opportunity to drive continuous improvement activities at this facility, this is a very established site with a lot of tenured staff.

Provide leadership and direction to the manufacturing, procurement, planning and warehouse teams.

Manage the production processes to ensure timely delivery of products, while maintaining high quality standards and optimizing costs.

Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

Coordinate and direct NPI project, applying best manufacturing practices.

Manage staff performance reviews and professional development programs.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager looking for their next challenge or a step up option for a Manufacturing Manager wanting to broaden out their skillset into the wider supply chain.

Skills and Experience Required

Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business OR equivalent relevant working experience.

Demonstrated experience in a broader Operations Leadership role within a high volume, industrial manufacturing environment. Open to Operations Managers, Factory Mangaers, Manufacturing Managers, Production Managers etc.

Previous experience managing Freight and 3PL contracts will be highly regarded.

Previous experience working with a mass manufactured product range will be highly regarded.

Understanding of lean manufacturing principals such as 5S, SOP, visual controls, VSM, SPC and 6 Sigma.
