The role is responsible for AWS environment, including appropriate assessment, design, and implementation of a wide range of AWS based services and tools to support the TPG AWS Platform and the deployment pipelines for internal customers who manage both internal and external systems. You will have exposure to best-practice Cloud technologies to build and support secure, highly available, and cost-efficient applications and services.

This is a hands-on role requires both strong technical knowledge and leadership skills.

In addition to the Cloud native teams, you will have strong engagement with broader TPG Telecom technology teams including IT, Networks, and business stakeholders.

  • Technical leadership of a team of AWS engineers
  • Work closely with engineering managers to provide technical advice and guidance
  • Champion technical solutions both internally in the team and externally to other teams
  • Enhancing, maintaining, and updating TPG’s AWS Platform, service offerings and automation framework
  • Enhancing, maintaining, and updating the Public Cloud team’s SRM and ITSM suite
  • Enhancing, maintaining, and updating TPG’s CI/CD framework
  • Enhancing, maintaining, and updating TPG’s core infrastructure and AWS networking components
  • Design, build, deliver, and optimise services and systems for internal usage including the delivery of both infrastructure as a code and service development
  • Breaking down broad high level business requirements into technical tasks for implementation
  • Identify and promote areas of improvement in policies, processes, and tooling
  • Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of AWS technologies and services
  • Knowledge of working with one or more of the following language Python, Java, Ruby, Javascript, C#, C++; Python is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-As-Code tools to automate deployments in AWS, preferably CloudFormation and CDK
  • Creating CI/CD pipelines in tools such as AWS Code Build, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline
  • Willing and keen to learn new technologies and skills
  • Be familiar with ITSM/SRM/CMDB tools like Jira Service Management or BMC Helix
  • Worked in an agile environment
  • Building highly available, scalable and resilient platforms
  • Worked with Splunk or similar log analyser
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to influence all levels of the business.
