Randstad is proud to partner with Queensland Rail (QR) on a major international recruitment drive to source Systems Assurance Engineering professionals from around the globe.

QR operates passenger and freight rail services across Queensland, and is committed to providing a customer-focused, safe and world-class rail service. It is also responsible for the maintenance of a 6600 kilometre rail network and the effective delivery of projects to improve the efficiency and increase the capacity of its rail assets.

QR has a current project pipeline of over A$10 billion and this is expected to grow exponentially in the build up to the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. As a result of this significant investment, the need to secure in-house signalling and systems assurance resources is paramount to support the Major Projects and Integration division (MPI). MPI is currently delivering Cross River Rail, which includes the installation/commissioning of ETCS level 2 and the Fast Rail project from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast.

Responsibilities of the role include:

Design and implement assurance plans for railway systems

Analyze and evaluate test results, identify and resolve any issues or defects

Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth integration of railway systems

Lead the assurance and testing of the designated railway system, ensuring compliance with industry regulations

Identify and troubleshoot any issues with the system and develop solutions to rectify them

Develop and maintain testing documentation and procedures

To be successful in this role:

To be successful you will need to have experience as a Systems Engineer (SME’s with experience in ETCS, ATO, PSD or other railway systems will be highly regarded)

A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification

Strong knowledge of industry regulations and standards

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong understanding of rail systems and infrastructure
