Bay of Fires Wines is the perfect reflection of why Tasmania is currently one of the most exciting wine regions in the world. Located approximately 35 minutes north of Launceston in the Pipers River region of Tasmania, Bay of Fires is a medium sized winery sourcing fruit from across Tasmania, including the Derwent Valley, East Coast, Coal Valley, and Tamar Valley. The focus is upon producing high quality wines from premium hand-picked fruit, ensuring the expression of varietal character and retention of cool climate acidity.

We’re currently looking to fill two Vintage Lab Assistant roles on a seasonal casual basis, to commence around mid-February .

Key responsibilities:

Some of the tasks you may be involved in include;
• Undertake analysis of all juices and wines and report anything not within specification
• Carry out data entry and assist with transcription and checking of analysis
• Assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
• Maintain general housekeeping and cleanliness of the laboratory.

What you’ll bring:

Essential;
• Full working rights – visa holders included
• Good communication
• Literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to work rotating shift work (possible weekends also)
Desirable;
• Previous wine industry experience
• Year 12 Chemistry or Laboratory AQF qualifications
