Our Housekeeping Supervisor is a key leadership role which provides support to the Executive Housekeeper. Being a great autonomous role, coordinating and managing our housekeeping team.

Our Housekeeping Supervisors are considered to be the soul and stability of our housekeeping department and shape and mentor the wonderful team.

It will be the job of the Housekeeping Supervisor to maintain the quality and integrity of the hotel, and the department, through active participation in all aspects of the Housekeeping Department, with a particular emphasis being placed on attaining the highest standard of cleanliness and maintaining safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure rooms are inspected and maintained to hotel standards.
  • Assist in cleaning of hotel rooms, corridors and public areas when needed.
  • Assist with rubbish removal, stripping linen from rooms and delivering guest amenities when needed.
  • Daily allocations, including opens and closes, working 8 hours a day minimum across operating hours of 5:30am – 5:00pm, either the open or the close.
  • The hotel requires that you will follow established Workplace Health & Safety rules and regulations and demonstrate duty of care to all of our team members.
  • Assists the Executive Housekeeper in the management of all areas of the Housekeeping Department.
  • To ensure the daily operations of the Housekeeping Office are productive and timely.
  • To provide counselling, and subsequent discipline, in accordance with Hotel policies and procedures.
  • To assist with rostering team members in a fair and equitable manner in accordance with forecasted occupancies.
  • To communicate on a daily basis with the Executive Housekeeper to ensure an effective flow of information.
  • To coordinate, develop and present “on the job” training of team members in line with hotel policy and procedures.
  • To support the departmental and hotel policies and procedures at all times.
  • To act in a professional manner when liaising with team members, management, owners, guests and suppliers.
  • To provide the highest standards of guest service, under any circumstances.
  • About you and our Requirements:

  • Ability to focus on attention to detail with a “hands-on” approach.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Coaching and Counselling experience with managing teams
  • Previous experience in a similar housekeeping role with knowledge of the high standards of an international hotel.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Hotel Management Systems and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated.
  • Must be flexible (available to work weekends and throughout holiday seasons.)
