Who are we looking for?

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Research Communications and Events Assistant to join School of Economics and Finance, Faculty of Business and Law, Academic Division.

The Research Communications and Events Assistant will be part of an innovative research environment working with the BEST Centre and BITA teams.The BEST Centre have a strong focus on converting research-based knowledge into practical applications which lead to improved public policy and business strategies. BITA is an Industrial Transformation Training Centre offering innovative Higher Degree by Research and postdoctoral training for industries vital to Australia’s future. The Research Communications and Events Assistant position supports the communications and event efforts of both the BEST Centre and BITA. This role involves supporting the Centres researchers to ensure a consistent and cohesive communications effort is activated.

About the Centre
The Centre for Behavioural Economics, Society and Technology (BEST) is a national and international leader in applied behavioural insights and behavioural economics research. The Centre relies on QUT’s expertise in Business and Economics and Social Marketing, leveraging and amplifying expertise in Science, Engineering and Medical and Health Research.

The Centre brings together research from the fields of Economics and Social Marketing to start a research and impact agenda that contributes to the frontiers of knowledge in the respective areas. It trials and develops applications of behavioural insights in areas ranging from education to medical sciences. 

This research agenda can address the diverse and complex issues facing contemporary society and has the potential to attract significant disciplinary and student interest, international attention, and partner engagement.

About the ARC Training Centre
The ARC Training Centre for Behavioural Insights for Technology Adoption (BITA) is supported by the Australian Research Council’s Industrial Transformation Research Program Scheme. 

BITA unites industry and government with world-leading interdisciplinary researchers to build transformative capability in people, data and solutions to support Australian organisations achieve higher returns on technology investment in health, agriculture and cyber-security.

What you need to succeed

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.

You will demonstrate:

1.    Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of an associate diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience or a certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience.
2.    Demonstrated experience in assisting in the delivery of communication activities, (including digital and written communications).
3.    Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise, manage workloads, and meet deadlines.
4.    Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal colleagues and teams, and with external clients, suppliers and stakeholders.

Remuneration:  $79,197 to $83,321 pa (HEW4) (inclusive of $66,923 to $70,407 pa, 17% superannuation and leave loading)
