Services Assistant – Catering Operator/ Kitchen Hand

You will contribute to the delivery of a timely, efficient and effective catering service within the Port Pirie Regional Health Service. Your duties will encompass the preparation, service and delivery of food to clients. You will undertake food preparation of vegetables, meat, salads, sandwiches and toast and prepare food trays and trolleys for service. As well as operating kitchen equipment and utensils, you will assist with serving meals and tea and coffee making and delivering meal trolleys. It will be part of your responsibility to ensure a clean and tidy work area and to wash utensils and kitchen equipment. With some prior experience in providing a catering service, you will have basic knowledge of Food Safety Standards and Infection Control Standards. With a flexible approach to work and rostering systems, you will be able to work alone or within a team environment, and work within set timeframes. You will be willing to provide assistance and cooperation to other staff, and perform under general direction or work under limited supervision. At all times you will be committed to using discretion and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Port Pirie Regional Health Service has 95 beds available for people with an acute medical condition, adults and children, surgical, obstetric, palliative care and care for people over 75 years of age.
