Research Fellow – neuroscience at Monash University. (Melbourne)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Research Fellow to join the Department of Neuroscience in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences on a 12-month fixed-term basis. In this role, you will be reporting directly to Associate Professor Sandy Shultz and will be asked to provide a range of high-level research services and further develop your research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to the particular field.

This can include:

Proactively undertake a range of research, under limited supervision, and contribute to the production of conference and seminar papers and publications from that research

Occasionally contribute to the teaching team in relation to their research projects

Attending meetings associated with research or work of the organisational unit to which the research is connected

Providing sound and timely advice within the field of research to postgraduate students

Creating experimental design and operation of advanced laboratory and technical equipment or conduct of advanced research procedures

This position is suited to a highly motivated individual who holds an honours, Master’s, or doctoral qualifications in Neuroscience or a closely related field. Additionally, the successful candidate will ideally demonstrate advanced computer skills, the ability to solve complex problems and highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
