Registered Undergraduate Student Of Nursing (ruson)

We are seeking applications from students currently completing an Undergraduate Nursing entry to practice qualification (Bachelor level and above) to join Monash Health as a Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON). This paid position is integral in supporting the nursing team in the delivery of safe, effective care. As a valuable part of the ward team RUSONs work under the supervision of a Registered Nurses/Midwifes, within clearly defined role parameters.

Working as a RUSON facilitates students’ professional growth and offers an opportunity to get a head start in a Nursing career within Victoria’s largest public health service.

About You: 

Currently enrolled in second year or above of a Bachelor of Nursing Degree, Nursing and Midwifery Double degree, or Master of Nursing at an Australian university that will lead to registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse

Have completed at least one clinical placement

Be able to provide a transcript showing successful completion of the first-year of the qualification in which you are enrolled

Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including building rapport with patients, colleagues and family members and confidence with conflict resolution

Ability to work as a caring, pro-active team member who is motivated to learn and develop new skills

Ability to work AM/PM/ND shifts across a 7-day rotating roster (around clinical placements)

Must be available to work a minimum of 1 shift per fortnight
