    About the Role
    We are seeking a Technical Support Officer (Electronics Laboratory Technician) to provide quality and timely electronics engineering support to staff and students within the College of Science & Engineering.

    Utilising your initiative and ability to prioritise tasks, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and maintaining the engineering teaching laboratories including equipment maintenance and consumables control.

  • The repair and maintenance of commercial and in-house constructed laboratory and workshop equipment, including instruments used in teaching and research facilities.

  • Performing administration tasks, such as preparing technical documentation, purchasing of technical items, preparation of calibration and maintenance records.

  • Managing Workplace Health and Safety requirements for teaching laboratories by preparing compliance documentation, supervising systems of safety, and ensuring the laboratories are safe for use by staff and students.

  • A bout You
    The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in the management of laboratories/workshops, with the ability to repair and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Strong electronics technical skills proficient in reading and understanding schematic diagrams, manufacturer data and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff and students.
  • The ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • The ideal candidate will also hold an electronic engineering qualification recognised by Engineers Australia at Engineering Associate level or higher (Associate Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Engineering Science or Bachelor of Engineering).
