Reporting to the HSE Operations Manager – Northern region, with a dotted line to the Plant Manager, this highly visible, site-specific HSE role provides operational support and advice to managers and supervisors across the Visy Glass plant.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Drive the delivery of HSE initiatives to continuously improve the HSE and overall business performance of Visy Glass Plant

Provide effective operational advice on HSE to the Plant Manager and plant management team members

Oversee the development, implementation, maintenance and internal audit of plant HSE Management System/s to ensure compliance to Visy standards and the law

Provide governance over the HSE incident management and risk management processes, ensuring that these processes work effectively and efficiently

Oversee the effective provision of HSE information, instruction and training to Visy Glass people and contractors

What you will bring to the team:

The successful applicant will ideally have:

Tertiary qualifications in WHS/OHS, environmental science or equivalent

Solid experience in an Environment or Occupational Health and Safety or related role in a complex manufacturing, engineering or construction environment

Having held operational HSE roles that are site specific

Effective people management experience and skills

Strong communication and influencing capabilities
