Senior Human Resources Business Partner

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to support to our Mining operations.

Responsibilities include: 

Building and fostering strong relationships across the business

Working closely with leaders to provide HR advice and solutions

Identifying and implementing change management activity that will add value to the organisation

Providing operational ER support and guidance to the leadership team

Coordinating and managing the resolution of workplace issues

Coordinating and supporting cyclical HR activities such as workforce planning, performance and remuneration cycles

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual who is results focused and willing to challenge the ‘status quo’. You thrive working in a rapidly changing environment and are comfortable with proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a high level of emotional intelligence to influence and engage with individuals across all levels, establishing and maintaining effective working relationship.

You will need to demonstrate:

Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent experience in a Business Partner role

The ability to raise capability across the business, through a coaching mindset

Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and work with a variety of stakeholders

Strong experience with HRIS, SAP and Success Factors experience will be highly regarded

Experience within mining/heavy industry environment is preferred

ER skills and HR experience in a unionised environment

SIMEC Mining , a member of GFG Alliance, has operations in SA and NSW. Our Iron Ore mining operations in South Australia’s Middleback Ranges, south west of Whyalla, consist of three primary mine sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges. Our Tahmoor Colliery in New South Wales, is an underground longwall coal mine with an associated coal preparation plant, producing high quality coking coal for global markets. Administration functions and ore pelletising and port facilities are located within the city limits of Whyalla, with corporate functions based in Adelaide and Sydney. 

The Iron Ore business is on an exciting trajectory to expand our mining and processing operations with significant investment over the next three years. Our operations in Tahmoor NSW produce metallurgical coal for the steel making process where the business is currently investing to expand and extend the life of the operations.
