Your new role

Application Support Developer – Data and Integration Solutions Team

Curtin University is seeking an Application Support Developer to join the Data and Integration Solutions Team on a Fixed Term, Full time 12-month contract. You will be responsible for managing the application support queue and implementing known development fixes in collaboration with the wider Development Team. You’ll also support Level 2 support of the University’s applications and systems, with the occasional requirement to engage in Level 3 support tasks.

The Application Support Developer will troubleshoot and resolve application issues, respond to user requests and provide Level 2 technical support. You’ll focus on identifying and escalating complex issues and maintaining repeatable support processes and knowledge articles. In addition, you will contribute to development efforts, planning, design and prioritisation of future work for the team.

Essential Criteria:

A relevant degree with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and establish positive working relationships with stakeholders.

Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear and comprehensive documentation.

Understanding of service management practices and usage of a service management platform such as ServiceNow

Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to present various solutions and provide rationale for recommendations.

Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies as required.

Desirable Criteria :

Relevant experience working in a dedicated Application Support or Agile development team.

Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and experience managing and prioritising an application support queue.
