    Oktal Sydac is a world leading developer of Driver Training Simulation Technology for the global rail and transportation sectors. We form part of the Sogeclair group and have a workforce of around 200 professionals delivering projects across the North and South Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. We design, develop, and produce hardware and software systems for the simulation industry, providing turnkey simulation systems for our customers across the globe. Oktal Sydac has rich history of delivering high end simulation systems to customers across the world for over 30 years. 

    The Role

    Oktal Sydac is looking for an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager to undertake market analysis, marketing, sales, and account management activities to expand our simulator footprint throughout the global transportation market.

    Based in Adelaide, you will report to the Head of Sales and Marketing and work as part of the broader Sales and Marketing team based in Canada, UK, India, and France.

    You will be required to engage at a variety of levels within target customers, spanning both operational line managers using the equipment and senior executive decision makers.

    Primary responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and develop new sales opportunities within the Oceania rail, bus, and truck markets.
  • Develop a deep understanding of end users’ business requirements and manage this information to expand Product Development efforts
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of Oktal Sydac’s product range and competitor products, including points of differentiation
  • Manage the entire sales process including requirements definitions, technical proposals, tenders responses, product demonstrations, quotations, developing business cases, resolving problems and responding to client requests
  • Negotiate complex contracts involving intellectual property, liquidated damages, extensions of time, limitations of liability with customers and business partners
  • Create detailed cost structures and business cases to underpin proposals
  • Undertake account management of current clients and during project delivery of successful tenders, manage the provision of services including the coordination of installation and modifications etc

    Required skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Proven experience in business to business sales within a technical environment, preferably within the passenger and freight transport sectors
  • Understanding the requirements of international driver training markets
  • Able to build contacts and networks within the rail industry and preferably exposure to the truck and bus driver training markets
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to create and design high level commercial and technical proposals
  • Proven experience in planning, preparing, and submitting responses to large technical tenders
  • Proactive approach in identifying and developing new sales opportunities to maintain a sales pipeline and meet and/or exceed sales targets
  • Ability to learn new technologies and their applications to the field of simulation and operator training
