You will join a team of talented consultants who work collaboratively with clients to guide their progress with out-of-the-box thinking and innovative efficiency solutions.

 

What you will be doing and will be responsible for:

As an analyst or engineer you will provide independent business consulting advice and engineering support to clients on projects that will assist them on progressing toward net zero emissions objectives.

 

A day in the life of the team at 2XE can include such activities as:

  • Building and analysing business resource flows, asset and carbon inventories
  • Technical and commercial modelling, feasibility, design and evaluation of projects such as renewable energy systems, heating and cooling systems, building performance, process and production efficiency, metering and monitoring solutions, energy procurement and water and waste handling
  • Meetings and regular catchups, both in person and remotely, with client executive, management and operations teams, suppliers, stakeholders and government or other representatives
  • Occasional travel and getting out to site around the country to understand client needs, issues and identify new improvement opportunities.
  • Assisting clients in the implementation, verification and ongoing performance of projects with direct project management and technical support
  • Presenting results via reports, spreadsheets, slide decks and other software or business intelligence tools
  • Business development, scoping engagement proposals and grant writing
  • Taking a specific strategic, program or technical lens to client challenges: whether it be tackling portfolio ESG initiatives aligned to a global reporting standard or working with an electrician to get submeters installed and connected to the Cloud
  • Supporting the evolution of inhouse business systems to drive greater workflow performance, quality, efficiency and ultimately help us all continue to work smarter rather than harder
  • Updating knowledge and taking part in thought leadership, training, research and development
  • Having fun, contributing to a better world and enjoying the journey and learning as a team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of assessments for improved energy productivity and sustainability. Broad tasking to include:
    • Developing an understanding of client operations and establishing energy and greenhouse emissions baselines
    • Technical scoping and business case analysis for capital investment and operating performance improvement projects
  • Preparation of reports, presentations and communication of results
  • You will be expected to undertake a combination of office/desktop analysis as well as meetings, travel and site visits with clients and other stakeholders
  • Support customers in building awareness of their energy consumption and resource use, the possible improvements they can make as well as the potential pathways to achieve those improvements
  • Work closely within the team and build strong relationships with client representatives: tuning into their needs and priorities

 

What you need to demonstrate to be successful:

  • Two to five years of previous engineering and/or technically oriented business consulting or analyst experience
  • Awareness of relevant technical and safety Standards
  • Ability to work with a variety of tools, techniques and documentation formats
  • Ability to organise a daily workload by priority
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong data capture, analysis and decision-making capability
  • Ability to identify and optimise outcomes across technical, commercial, operational and environmental drivers
  • Professional level verbal and written communications skills including experience in report generation and presentation
  • Experience in multi stakeholder engagement across senior management, facility managers and operations personnel to third party representatives, suppliers and trade persons (eg electricians)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint (at a minimum)

 

A knowledge of renewable energy technologies and experience in project management will be highly regarded.
