Job Description
We are looking for a Metadata Lead to join our Collections & Discovery team on a fixed-term temporary basis.
In this busy but rewarding role, you will be instrumental in leading a high performing team that is focused on improving First Nations Metadata as part of the First Nations Metadata Improvement Program – an important program that is contributing to improving the discoverability of First Nations records through metadata enhancement.
Your relevant leadership, relationship and archival skills will see you developing project plans, providing expertise and working with internal and external stakeholders.
This is a job where you can make a difference and contribute to managing and preserving Queenslanders past – the histories of families, local communities and the state.
In this role you will:
• Lead and support a high performing team of specialist archival staff in the delivery of collection management services
• Develop project work plans, oversee and prioritise the team’s daily work activities and manage resource allocation
• Provide advice and guidance to First Nations Metadata Improvement Program team on best practice and the use of the Metadata Framework
• Undertake presentations as required and prepare discussion papers, reports and briefing notes related to First Nations Metadata Improvement Program
• Provide subject matter expertise in archival systems and collection management issues, including the arrangement and description of permanent public records and the enhancement of metadata to improve discoverability of the collection
• Build and maintain networks and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
